Lisa Ackerman - My dreams and the act of dreaming is what I paint.

My mom was a fashion illustrator in the 60's, and she has always encouraged me. I had formal training at several colleges in the Los Angeles area, and went to the Art Student's League for a summer in New York.

I cannot classify myself as any particular style, but a fusion sounds fitting- how about surrealpressionist. I am inspired by things that don't seem completely right, but work well together anyway, vivid colors, also people that make an impact on the world, and the brilliance of nature. I work in oil and collage but have been told I'm a natural at sculpture. I dabble a bit in photography as well.

"The work you shared with Scott at RedHare Gallery today was beautiful! What a treat to be there when you showed up. Especially loved the colors of the water and your clouds- I know, I said that. Plus you're always fun to talk to. Looking forward to seeing your art on display there and anywhere else around the community. Happy for you. Good job."

"Very nice work. Overcoming the Odds is my favorite, but I really like The Ascent and Rusted Rose too. My taste in art tends toward realism, so that's why these three are so appealing.
